Visit to Intermarketing Agency (Leeds)

The Intermarketing Agency visit was an extremely insightful experience, thanks to senior designers Paul and Leanne. Not only did we learn about their agency, such as their wide variety of clients, ranging from Adidas to charities such as EveryChild, but we were also given 4 briefs to work on. It was interesting to see what ideas we could come up with in such a short space of time, whether we worked in groups or individually.

It was a relaxed atmosphere which made us all feel at ease and comfortable to express our ideas. The last brief was particularly interesting as it was a large group brainstorming session, which I had never experienced before, and it helped me realise what I needed to work on, e.g. being able to express my ideas in a large group. Leanne and Paul seemed genuinely interested in our ideas, which helped motivate us.

We were also given the opportunity to ask them questions, such as how long they normally get to work on the briefs, what skills they would expect from a copywriter, and whether they work in an art director/copywriter team.
